Headshots in the Street #13

Headshots In The Street 13-10-17-2013

Such a genuinely fine and nice man who was waiting on the sidewalk, standing very still.

Headshots in the Street is a series of unplanned, totally improvised shots of people encountered on the streets of Los Angeles. I treat each one as a mini-session, sometimes lasting no more than thirty seconds. Each photo is given some minimal retouching and color correction before posting. The people are from all walks of life. Some actually turn out to be actors or models. Sometimes we talk a little and I hand out my business card so that the person can check to see if I post their photo.

Headshots in the Street #5

Headshot On The Street 4-10-15-2013

I met this very lovely woman while struggling with my dog, who for some reason accompanied me on my camera round today, turning the entire effort into his own tug-of-war with me each time I aimed my camera. While posing, this woman even offered to hold the leash for me. I must have looked somewhat less than graceful.
